Frequently asked questions
What is the return policy? Can I ride an electric trike if I haven't ridden a bike in years?
Yes — many of our customers are returning to riding after 10, 20, or even 30 years away from cycling.
An electric trike feels more stable than a traditional bicycle because you do not need to balance at stops.
Most riders adjust within one or two short practice sessions in an empty parking lot or quiet neighborhood street.
We recommend starting on the lowest pedal assist setting and practicing slow turns, braking, and starting from a stop before riding on busier roads or trails.
Is an electric trike hard to assemble?
Not usually.
Your trike arrives partially assembled with the motor, rear axle, drivetrain, and electrical system already installed.
Most customers finish the remaining setup in about 30 to 60 minutes using the included tools.
Typical steps include attaching the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, seat post, and front basket if included.
A printed instruction manual comes in the box, and we also provide video walkthroughs for specific models if needed.
Can I ride an electric trike without using the motor?
Yes.
All of our electric trikes can still be pedaled like a regular tricycle even with the motor turned off.
Keep in mind that electric trikes are heavier than standard bikes, so pedaling without assistance requires more effort — especially on hills or with cargo. Most riders use a low pedal assist setting instead of turning the motor completely off.
How long does the battery take to charge?
Most batteries fully charge in about 4 to 6 hours depending on battery size and remaining charge level.
For best battery life:
- Charge indoors at room temperature
- Avoid leaving the battery plugged in for days at a time
- Use only the charger included with your trike
Many riders simply charge overnight before a planned ride the next day.
Can I ride in light rain?
Yes — light rain and wet roads are generally fine for normal riding.
However, electric trikes are not designed for deep water, flooding, or pressure washing.
Avoid:
- Submerging electrical components
- Riding through deep puddles
- Leaving the battery exposed to heavy rain for long periods
After riding in wet conditions, wipe the trike dry and store it indoors whenever possible.
